Coconut Bao Zhong

from $4.50

Bao Zhong is the most lightly oxidized of all oolongs at just 8-10%. This creates a beautiful balance of green oolong freshness and a heavenly sweet aroma. Our Coconut Bao Zhong uses only real extract that has naturally come from young coconuts found in nature, not a laboratory. In doing so, our Coconut Bao Zhong is a light-bodied, smooth tea with both floral & fruity notes, and a sweet, buttery finish. A true South Pacific delicacy, if we do say so ourselves!

Origin: Cuppa Culture's Coconut Bao Zhong is grown in the Fujian Province, just outside of the Wuyi Mountains of China. The farm is located on sunbaked hillsides that is traditionally described to be "Eight parts mountain, one part water, and one part farmland.” Large twisted dark green leaves are lightly oxidized to make this wonderful tea. In fact, it is so lightly oxidized that it is categorized somewhere between a green tea and a regular oolong providing the best of both worlds to this unique tea. The result is a sweet yet mild, delicately floral and fruity cuppa that is rich in antioxidants, pleasant on the palate, and requires no sweeteners what-so-ever.

To achieve such a purely natural coconut flavor, it starts with using real coconuts and roasting, shredding, and steeping them for more than a week. The coconut pieces are then strained leaving only pure coconut extract that is both smooth and buttery. It takes extra time and effort, but the result is such a wonderful cuppa that it is worth every single, arduous step.

1 teaspoon (or 2 grams) per 8oz cup of less than boiled water, preferably 175F or less, so as not to burn & damage these delicate leaves. Also, these leaves will unfurl while steeping, and reveal themselves to be much larger than you will initially expect.

*Brewing Tip: As with all green tea, before pouring the heated water over the leaves, test the temperature on your lips or tongue. If the water scorches your delicate skin, then it will do the same to the delicate tea leaves.

Sample size provides at least 4 servings. 1.5oz pkg provides at least 14 brewed cups. Adjust the amount of tea according to your personal taste. Use more tea for a stronger brew. Use less tea for a milder flavor.
